Our Favourite Spots For Breakfast In Byron Bay
If you're wondering what the best place for breakfast in Byron Bay is then you've come to the right place. It’s the most important meal of the day and the best for that matter.
Whether you’re looking for a leisurely Sunday brunch spot or a quick bite to eat before heading out for a ride, Byron Bay is home to some some of the top cafes Australia, all of which serve up exceptional brekkie!
We asked our bike community here in Byron Bay their favourite spots to chow down before the big day ahead. Let’s dive in.
COMBI
Combi’s menu is predominantly plant-based, and it offers great breakfast choices. They are also right around the corner from Freedom Machine and have become close friends with us, so we can tell you they are always able to nail what we are longing for.
This is the place to get some of the best smoothie bowls in town, including their acai bowl with berries, pistachios, and coconut flakes.
The bright and airy spot is only a few blocks from Main Beach on Fletcher Street and is a great breakfast choice before or after some time on the sand. The focus on healthy, delicious food includes some great brekkie options like vegan buckwheat pancakes and avo on toast, as well as tons of great smoothie options. If you fancy something a bit different, try the more unusual but tasty Sweet Sprouted Bread.
Combi offers homemade mylk (coconut or almond milk) to add to its coffee, matcha, or milkshakes. Its tables spill out onto the adjacent pavement and attract passers-by hungry for a great morning meal, making for a perfect atmosphere to start your day in sunny Byron Bay.

PIXIE
Pixie Food & Wine is one of the top go to’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The morning offering hits all the right notes with a small yet sound menu of both sweet and savoury options.
In the sweet corner, you can’t go past the fig and ricotta sourdough crumpet with hazelnuts and wild honey. For those seeking a savoury snack, totally dive into the blue swimmer crab omelette topped with green pea, chive and coriander salad.
Both dog and kid friendly, the outside area is great for those blue bird sunny Byron days. However, sitting inside is an amazing option to gaze upon the incredible design by the award-winning Flack Studio.
Also, cocktails start from 10am…giving you a pip in your step for the day.

BAYLEAF
The Bayleaf offering is a combination of breakfast menu staples. Think elevated versions of a chilli scramble and avo toast, mixed in with some more worldly seasonal options. Do yourself a favour and opt for a side of Bayleaf’s signature in-house Vegemite with your scrambled eggs. Even the non ‘mite eaters will be converted. We also highly recommend the Brekkie Greens: it’s hard to believe something that tasty can be so healthy!

THREE BLUE DUCKS AT THE FARM
No trip to Byron is complete without a visit to The Farm. Book in for breakfast at Three Blue Ducks then take a walk around the property visiting the animals! The majority of what is served in the restaurant is grown on site, using the best organic practices. The in-house bakery, Bread Social, also provides all the bread and pastries.
Hot tip: if you’re unable to get a table in the main restaurant they have a range of takeaway options in the produce store which you can then eat at the picnic tables located just beyond the restaurant’s dining area.
